Business Basics Grant Round 3 | Open Dates 16-17 May

The Queensland Government has just announced a Round 3 of the Business Grant Program called ‘Business Basics Grant’. The Grant is available to those regional businesses who missed out on Round 1 or 2 Business Grants announced last year.


Please be advised that Business Basics Round 3 did not open on 4 May as previously announced, due to technical issues.
 New dates are as follows:

  • Regional Queensland funding stream – 9am, Monday 16 May
  • South East Queensland funding stream – 9am, Tuesday 17 May.

Who is eligible for the Business Basics Grant?

To be eligible for this grant, your business must:

  • not have been approved for funding under Round 1 or 2 of the Business Basics grants program
  • have fewer than 20 employees (by head count) at the time of applying for the grant
  • have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
  • have headquarters in Queensland and you are applying for a SEQ or regional grant depending on where your business is based
  • have an expected turnover of $300,000 or less for the current financial year
  • not have owners/directors that are insolvent or an undischarged bankrupt.

What are the eligible uses of funds?

The Grant is only available for use on the following expenses:

  • Training and coaching
  • Website build or upgrades
  • Professional business advice
  • Strategic marketing services
  • Business continuity and succession

This grant will be in high demand. Application open date it yet to be announced. Round 3 will close when sufficient applications have been received for competitive assessment and is expected to close quickly.
